All of us, including our institution have not been left immune from its impact. We must remember that our strong faith can help us better navigate these unpleasant waters and cope with many challenges, particularly at this time in our life. We are praying for all of those that have been affected by the virus, either directly or indirectly.
We understand the current challenges that our teaching staff and students face and with your unwavering cooperation, we aim to continue to support their teaching and learning needs. Our priority has always been to continue to deliver an excellent academic component and ensure that we maintain a focus on safety, and health of all participants.

The symptomatic individual needs to stay in their own room and, if possible, use their own bathroom and not use common areas. Exemptions are in place for asymptomatic household members if they are a health-care worker or first responder. For information on self-isolation, click here.

Student Belongings in Lockers and Classrooms
Holy Cross School is requesting that all student belongings (personal school supplies, shoes, jackets, binders, clothing, etc.) be removed from Holy Cross School by Friday, May 1st, 2020. Please make arrangements to have all items picked up by students or authorized family members. Reminder that the school is only open from 9am-1pm daily. Any items not picked up by May 1st will be donated or discarded. We need to have this done so that the school can properly disinfect everything. You are encouraged to bring a bag to store all of the items in. We will not be letting more than 10 people in the school at a time, so there may be a short wait if too many people show up at once.
Student-Homework Assistance/Help:
Students who are in need of assistance, clarification or help with their assignments, please ensure you contact your homeroom teachers by email. All our teachers are online every day from 8:30am - 3:00pm to assist you.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
I would like to extend to all of you a warm thank you for your patience with the current situation we are experiencing. The Coronavirus 19 and the provinces announcement to temporarily suspend classes is unparalleled in history and it’s creating difficulties for all families.
Please be aware that we will continue to provide learning to your child, but this will occur in a slightly different format. Thank you for investing your time in your home to assist your child with their learning. Your help and your co-operation is greatly appreciated.
Do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or our school should you have any questions. All teachers, under my direction, continue to develop appropriate lesson plans for learning at home and are available to assist with your child’s learning during regular school hours- online.
Please be advised that due to SPRING BREAK WEEK (March 30-April 3, 2020) all HCS teachers will not be available to support students during that designated time. All online classes will resume Monday, April 6th, 2020. Regular school will resume Tuesday, April 14th, 2020 or until further notice. We will keep you informed should there be any other changes.
If you need to visit the school to pick up any school related assignment for your child, please keep in mind and abide by the provinces public health requirements. They are as follows:
Please call HCS if any of the above requirements are not met so that we can make alternate arrangements.
Many thanks for your co-operation during this trying time. If you have any concerns, you can contact Mrs. Erin Dietrich, Administrative Assistant or Mrs. Jill Anderson, Secretary at (204) 237-4936 or by e-mail at HCSoffice@holycrossschool.mb.ca
God Bless and have a Safe Spring Break

Good Afternoon to all of our Families,

The safety, health and well-being of our staff and students has always been at the core of all our recommendations and decisions. Holy Cross School (HCS) is always closely monitoring the most current status and situation, since it first began developing. We are working close with the Manitoba Department of Education and the Province team of Health Professionals to advise our decision making and any actions that need to be addressed while maintaining high quality ed programming. Holy Cross School will continue to take proactive measures. Effective immediately, to help support our students, the teachers will work closely online classroom learning by doing the following:
- Teachers will continue to be on the job either in schools or at home at various times/days to create learning plans and continue teaching using HCS School Notes and email addresses (please see below to access these).
- Teachers are preparing online packages for learning to continue.
- Teachers will be putting all assignment information on their School Notes page.
- Please contact your child's homeroom teacher by email with any assignment questions.
- Teacher's School Notes page and email addresses can be found on our website: http://holycrossschool.mb.ca/academics/teachers/
- Teachers may ask students to pick up or drop off assignments at school. This can be done by phoning the office ahead of time between the hours of 9:00am - 2:00pm only.
