Holy Cross School conducts several programs that involve community outreach. These programs not only help those in need, but they also give students at Holy Cross the experience of helping others.
One of our ongoing programs we have been successfully running over the years is the collection of pop can tabs for the purpose of purchasing an electronic wheelchair for a child in need (TABS for Wheelchairs).
Each year, nearly 200 businesses and schools collect and donate pop tabs, which are dropped off at Holy Cross School. They are processed and then collected by ??? trucking. Each year in the month of May our school hosts the official presentation of this specialized wheelchair to the current recipent.
If you would like to receive an information booklet and more info on this year's candidate, please contact our Librarian, Mrs. Buccini, the co-ordinator for this program.
Other programs that the school is involved in are coordinated by Holy Cross Parish. Throughout the school year, students from Holy Cross School hold fundraising activities, collect food, money and or clothing for those in need and at Christmas time, help in the collection of items that are used to prepare Christmas hampers for those in need in the parish community.
