Holy Cross School is part of a broader community that includes Holy Cross Parish and St. Boniface Diocesan High School, where many students from Holy Cross attend high school. The full-sized and licensed Holy Cross Gym is used for socials, sporting events and cultural activities such as Folklorama, where two pavilions are held each summer.
Furthermore, Holy Cross School conducts several programs that involve community outreach. These programs not only help those in need, but they also give students at Holy Cross the experience of helping others.
One on-going program is the collection of pop can tabs for the purpose of purchasing an electronic wheelchair for a child in need. Each year, nearly 200 businesses and schools collect and donate pop tabs, which are dropped off at Holy Cross School, where they are processed and stored. Annually, at the end of May, a presentation of the wheelchair is made to the recipient and their family.
Other programs that the school is involved in are coordinated by Holy Cross Parish. Throughout the school year, students from Holy Cross School hold fundraising activities, collect food, money and or clothing for those in need and at Christmas time, help in the collection of items that are used to prepare Christmas hampers for those in need in the parish community.
